There was a tremendous need within the community for access to land as many of the newly arriving immigrants grew up in a market subsistence lifestyle. They knew the language of the soil, but not of English. Getting back to their roots made them feel right at home. Through a series of events, and the underutilized space of Sammis Park, the ballfields became the new home of ACF.
