Get a Plot

Akron Cooperative Farms provides plots for gardeners of all skill levels and backgrounds. Because this is such a popular community asset, we have a waiting list of people interested in plots for the 2024 growing season. 

As we seek ways to expand our footprint, we hope to offer additional opportunities in the future. Stay Tuned!
 

Garden Plot Quick Facts

We have several plot sizes available for our urban farmers! Full plots are 20 x 20 feet, half plots are 10 x 20 feet and raised beds are 4 x 8 feet.
 
There is a nominal fee for leasing a plot each season, which offers use of the plot from May through October and gives you priority to that plot for the following year.
 

Garden Plot Lease Includes:

  • Tilling of soil before growing season
  • Access to free seeds
  • Use of garden tools, buckets, and wheel barrows
  • Water
  • Gardening assistance and coaching
  • Farm events such as community meals and social gatherings

Remember, plots are first come first serve, so please complete the contact form below to reserve a plot.

Steps to Getting a Plot

  1. Read the brief description and Quick Facts above. 👆
  2. Read through the ACF Garden Rules and the ACF Waiver.
  3. If you agree to the garden rules and terms listed in the form, fill out the contact form below to be added to the waiting list.
  4. Submit your completed ACF Registration Packet by email or mail:  akroncooperativefarms@gmail.com or Akron Cooperative Farms, PO Box 4871, Akron OH 44310.
  5. If registration is complete and there are open plots, you will be contacted to set up payment.
  6. If registration is complete and there are no open plots, you will receive confirmation and be contacted when a plot opens.
  7. Attend the Gardener’s Meeting to get important information, get access to your garden, and meet other gardeners!
